One of the most accomplished chefs in the world, Pierre Gagnaire has spent 50 years in the culinary world. He holds three Michelin stars, and was bestowed upon the title of ‘Best Chef in the World’ by industry magazine Le Chef voted by his peers. But he faced many an obstacle on the road to success. It was when he lost his restaurants and had to return his hard earned Michelin stars that he realised how much they were a part of his being. He returned with renewed gusto and not only reclaimed his former glory, but created an empire. Today, he runs 12 restaurants around the world, including one at InterContinental in Dubai’s Festival City. Born to restaurateur parents, he was destined to follow in their footsteps, albeit reluctantly. The kitchen he once disliked is now his home.
